PACTS Learning Session

Advancing Patient-Centered Sickle Cell Care in Africa

On Wednesday, May 7, 2025, the Lords Blessing foundation proudly participated in the second learning session of the Patient-Centered Sickle Cell Disease Management in Africa Research Group (PACTS Project), held at the Impact Building, KNUST in Kumasi.

The PACTS Project is a multidisciplinary research initiative focused on improving patient-centered care for individuals living with sickle cell disease across Africa. The project brings together health workers, researchers, policymakers, NGOs, and community members to collectively address the challenges faced by patients in accessing proper care.

As a foundation dedicated to supporting people affected by sickle cell disease, we were honored to be invited to join this important dialogue. The session provided a valuable platform for participating organizations and communities to:

  • Share their ongoing activities

  • Discuss challenges in implementing patient-centered care

  • Present local solutions and successes

  • Learn from one another’s experiences

The learning session reinforced the power of collaboration in improving health outcomes and showed how community-driven solutions can make a real impact. It was inspiring to see so many committed stakeholders working together to build stronger systems of care for sickle cell patients.

We extend our sincere thanks to the PACTS Research Group for the invitation and commend them for creating such an impactful platform. Our foundation remains committed to working alongside partners in the fight against sickle cell disease and to ensuring that patient voices remain at the heart of care solutions.
